Dustless Turbo Drywall Sander
The Turbo Drywall Sander is ran entirely by vacuum suction, producing an astonishing 10,000 rpm on the head.The head rotates in a circular fashion for even sanding, while a suction border around the sandpaper sucks in 99.99% of the dust.While this sander is not as aggressive as electric powered sanders, its dust capture make it ideal for use in hospitals, labs, finished homes, and other sensitive work areas.Hook and loop sandpaper attaches onto the sander head without cutting or fussing - simply slap it on there.The included sander pole extends to 6 feet, but the sander can also be used without the pole for hand sanding.A locking head mechanism allows the sander head to be locked at any angle you need for getting into high corners or against walls.Every four hours the sander can be oiled with the included sander oil by dropping the oil into the small hole on the side.The sander includes a 1.5" reverse thread to screw directly onto Dustless vacuums, but if your vacuum has a 1.5" soft cuff it will fit any vacuum.We recommend a vacuum with 125 CFM and filtration of 99.97% at 0.5 microns to capture the fine drywall dust, especially if working in sensitive areas.Several pieces of sandpaper are inlcuded with this product, but more grits are available, sold separately.
Wires run through the tubing:
When using the Turbo Drywall Sander, it generates enough static electricity, both from the friction on the wall and from the dust moving through the extension wand to give the user a strong shock unless a method to dissipate that static electricity is included. This is the purpose of the wire running through the extension wand.
This grounding wire is not connected to any electrical current whatsoever and is therefore not any danger to the user. The vibrating action of the sander head is driven by the airflow from the vacuum rotating a turbine inside the sander head.
While the Turbo Drywall Sander will work fine without it the grounding wire, the user may experience periodic strong static electric shocks if it is removed or absent, especially when used in dry climates or during cold weather when humidity is low.
