Recommended floors
Bona recommends this kit for all types of unwaxed residential and commercial polyurethane finished wood floors, and for pre-finished aluminum oxide floors. It leaves no dulling residue and is safe for wood floors.
Note the word unwaxed. If your floors are waxed or oiled rather than polyurethane finished, this is not the right system for them. Bona also builds a separate stone, tile and laminate line for hard surface floors, which is what to use on those rather than this hardwood cleaner.
Two pads, two jobs
Both pads are included and they are not interchangeable in use. The dusting pad handles dry pickup of grit and debris, which is the step that protects the finish, since loose grit underfoot is what abrades a hardwood floor over time. The cleaning pad is for damp cleaning with the Pro Series cleaner. Both are microfiber and reusable.
