The EDCO 77143 retaining strip is the clamping strip that holds the rubber skirt seal against the housing of a 2EC or 2GC dual-disc concrete floor grinder. The skirt seal is what keeps ground concrete dust inside the shroud where the vacuum port can pull it away, and the containment is only as good as the clamp holding that seal flat. When the seal is replaced, the retaining strip is often bent, worn or missing hardware, so contractors doing dust-controlled grinding replace the strip along with the seal.
