The EDCO 77049 is a 55 lb weight block for Classic-style dual-disc concrete floor grinders. Grinding rate on a dual-disc machine is largely a function of the pressure on the discs, and the factory weight of the machine is a compromise; adding weight blocks is how EDCO lets an operator lean on a hard slab, a stubborn coating or a high spot without fighting the machine. Concrete contractors, surface prep crews and rental yards add them when the standard configuration is not cutting fast enough.

EDCO states this weight is for use with the Classic dual-disc grinder (2EC/2GC) weight tray. The EDCO parts manual containing part 77049 covers these machines: 50100 (2EC-1.5HP, electric 1.5 HP), 51300-50 (2EC-2B/50, electric 2 HP 50 Hz), 50800 (2EC-3B, electric 3 HP), 51800 (2GC-5.5H, Honda GXV160 gasoline), 51400 (2GC-11H, Honda GXV340 gasoline) and 54800 (2GC-11P, Honda GXV340 propane).
This is not the Magna-Trap dual-disc weight block, which EDCO numbers 77506, and no source states that 77049 fits the newer wedge-less 2EC-NG or 2GC-NG grinders. Confirm fitment against your machine's model number before ordering, and note that the weight tray is required and sold separately.
