This is a 16-inch Vibra Groomer I brush roll with hex ends and ball bearings, the agitator used in Eureka and Sanitaire commercial uprights of that platform. The brush roll is the wear part that does the actual work of loosening soil from carpet pile; when the bristles are worn flush with the roll body or the bearings have gone rough and noisy, carpet grooming drops off well before the machine itself is worn out.
