This is the exhaust filter that seats in the exhaust path of Electrolux and Eureka upright vacuums, sold under filter part number EL8502 and Eureka number 80714. It is a HEPA-rated media filter combined with activated charcoal, so it does two jobs at once: it traps fine particulate on the way out of the machine, and the carbon layer absorbs odor rather than recirculating it. That combination is why it is a common buy for pet owners and for anyone vacuuming spaces where the smell of the exhaust is noticeable.
