This is a replacement ignitor for the Little Giant 3HT heater. On these heaters the ignitor produces the spark that lights the pilot, which in turn fires the main burner. It is a wearing electrical part: strikers and their leads degrade with repeated use and with exposure to heat and moisture, and a heater that will not light or that needs repeated attempts to catch a pilot is a common symptom. About the heater
The 3HT is part of Little Giant Manufacturing's Hotomatic line of instantaneous gas water heaters, built in Orange, Texas.
