A 1.5 HP heavy-duty sealed induction motor drives the head at 3500 RPM against a cast iron chassis. Coverage runs up to roughly 5,000 sq ft per hour depending on the number of finish layers.
Because the head oscillates rather than spins, the machine does not torque out of your hands the way a 175 RPM rotary does on a stripping pad. Does it really strip floor finish without chemicals?
Yes. Run dry with the correct prep pad it abrades finish off as a dry dust rather than dissolving it. Pair it with a vacuum so the dust is captured. For a full strip to bare tile on very heavily built-up floors, some crews still finish with a light chemical pass.
How is this different from a 175 RPM rotary stripping machine?
A rotary spins one disc in a single direction and pulls to one side, so the operator has to fight it. The Accelerator oscillates thousands of times a minute, so there is no side pull, the learning curve is shorter, and it can run dry with no slurry to recover.
Can it be used wet as well as dry?
Yes. The SP-15 N works on both wet and dry surfaces, so it also handles deep scrubbing and screening.
