MK Diamond MK-200 12-inch continuous rim wet cutting tile and stone blade, 1-inch arbor, part 137174

The MK Diamond MK-200 137174 is the 12-inch standard grade tile blade for smooth, chip-free cutting on tile and stone, sized for the larger rail and bridge saws used on big-format material.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Large rail and bridge tile saws cutting big-format porcelain panels, thick pavers and stone slabs on commercial installs.
• Highlight: At 12 inches the blade clears thicker stock than the 10-inch MK-200, which is what large-format porcelain and stone treads usually demand.
• Expert Note: Twelve-inch tile blades run on stationary saws with a pump-fed water tray; make sure the water actually reaches the full rim or the 137174 will overheat at its outer edge.

Description Reviews FAQ

The MK Diamond MK-200 12-inch tile blade steps the standard grade continuous rim line up to the saws that cut thick pavers, stone treads and large-format porcelain all day. It cuts tile, marble and dense floor materials with a smooth, chip-free edge, and part number 137174 is the 12-inch diameter on a 1-inch arbor with a slightly heavier .080-inch core.

The MK-200 is MK Diamond's standard grade continuous rim wet cutting tile blade, and the continuous rim is the reason it lands on finish work: an unbroken diamond edge leaves no segment gullets to hammer the glaze, so cuts come off the saw smooth enough to set without a second pass on a stone or a grinder. MK rates the series for tile, marble and other stone, and calls it out as an especially strong performer on dense floor materials, which is the category most likely to chip with a cheap blade.

Use Cases

  • Straight and diagonal cuts in ceramic and porcelain floor and wall tile on a wet table saw
  • Marble, travertine and other dimension stone where a chipped edge cannot be hidden by grout
  • Dense pavers and quarry tile that dull a general purpose blade quickly
  • Stone treads, thresholds and thick pavers that a 10-inch blade cannot clear in one pass
  • Remodel and punch-list work where one blade has to cover several tile bodies on the same job

Why this size

At 12 inches the MK-200 moves off bench-top tile saws and onto larger wet saws and tile and stone saws that use a 1-inch arbor. MK also steps the kerf up from .060 in to .080 in at this diameter, which is the trade-off that keeps a bigger blade tracking straight through thick, dense material instead of wandering.

Frequently asked questions

What does the 8 mm rim height mean for blade life?

Rim height is the depth of usable diamond above the steel core. At 8 mm the MK-200 carries a full-height rim for its class, so there is real material to wear through before the blade reaches the core. Once the rim wears down near the core the blade is finished and should be replaced rather than pushed.

Can this blade be used dry?

No. The MK-200 is a wet cutting blade. Running a continuous rim blade dry removes the cooling and flushing that water provides, and heat is the most common cause of premature blade failure, showing up as discoloration of the steel core just under the rim. Keep a steady water supply on both sides of the blade for the whole cut.

Why is my porcelain still chipping?

Chipping on hard porcelain usually traces to feed rate, water volume or an unsupported tile edge rather than the blade itself. Slow the last inch of the cut, keep the tile flat against the table and fence, make sure water is reaching the rim and not just the tray, and cut with the finished face up on a table saw so any breakout lands on the back.

Does MK offer other arbor sizes for this blade?

MK Diamond states that special arbors are available on request, and that stock arbors can be bushed down to smaller sizes if you specify that at the time of order. Contact us before ordering if your saw needs a size other than the stock arbor listed above.
