MK Diamond MK-610W 12" (305mm) Supreme Grade for Green Concrete, Concrete Blade # 139121

MK Diamond MK-610W 12-inch Supreme grade wet-cutting blade for green concrete control joints, part 139121

MK Diamond 139121 is the 12-inch (305mm) MK-610W Supreme Grade blade for green concrete, .125 inch wide on a 1-inch arbor. It is laser-welded with a 12mm segment height and rated for 8-20 hp saws cutting early-entry control joints.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Early-entry crack-control joints in green concrete on a 12-inch walk-behind saw, at the thin .125-inch kerf that removes the least material.
• Highlight: MK Diamond offers the 12-inch MK-610W in four widths; part 139121 is the .125-inch, the narrowest and fastest-cutting of them.
• Expert Note: MK Diamond rates the MK-610W for 8-20 hp saws with a 12mm segment height, and a .125-inch kerf keeps the load light enough for the lower end of that range.

Description Reviews FAQ

Green concrete gives you a short window and no second chances. Cut too early and the slab ravels at the joint; cut too late and it has already cracked where you did not want it to. The MK Diamond MK-610W Supreme grade blade is built for crews working inside that window: flatwork contractors, slab sawyers and concrete finishers putting control joints into fresh placements before the concrete decides for itself. Part number 139121 is the 12-inch (305mm) diameter on a .125-inch kerf and a 1-inch arbor.

Built for

  • Control and contraction joints in freshly placed slabs, driveways and sidewalks
  • Early-entry and conventional wet sawing of green concrete
  • Warehouse, parking deck and commercial flatwork jointing on a schedule
  • Asphalt and other soft, abrasive materials where a hard bond is the right choice
  • Crews who need predictable blade life across a whole pour rather than one good day

Why green concrete needs its own blade

Fresh concrete is softer than cured concrete, and that makes it harder on a blade, not easier. The cement paste has not yet locked the sand and aggregate in place, so the sand rolls loose across the face of each diamond segment and behaves like an abrasive rather than something being cut. A blade bonded for cured concrete will shed its diamonds into that grit in short order.

The fix is a harder metal bond, which grips each diamond until it is genuinely worn out instead of letting it wash away early. That is the rule that catches people out: hard bond for soft material, soft bond for hard material. The MK-610W is bonded on the hard side for precisely this reason, which is also why it suits asphalt and why it is the wrong blade for dense cured concrete.

Getting the life the blade is capable of

Keep water flowing on both sides of the blade and let the saw set the feed rate. Forcing the cut, letting the blade bind in the kerf or dropping into the subgrade below the slab will cost you segments faster than any amount of cutting will. Inspect before each shift and pull the blade from service if you see missing or cracked segments, heat discoloration on the core, cracks radiating from the arbor hole, or undercutting at the segment line.

Frequently asked questions

When is concrete green enough to cut with the MK-610W?

Green concrete is typically sawn within hours of placement, while the slab is strong enough to hold an edge but the paste has not fully locked the aggregate. The exact window depends on the mix, the weather and the slab, so follow your specification or the finisher on site rather than a fixed number of hours.

Why does soft green concrete need a hard bond?

Because the sand in an uncured slab is not yet bound into the matrix. It moves across the segment face as loose abrasive and washes a soft bond away quickly. A hard bond holds each diamond in place until it has actually done its work, which is what gives usable life in abrasive material.

Can I use this blade on cured concrete?

It is not the right choice. Cured, dense concrete calls for a softer bond that sheds worn diamonds and keeps exposing fresh ones. Run a green concrete blade in cured slab and it will glaze over and stop cutting well.

What saw does part number 139121 fit?

It has a 1-inch arbor and a 12-inch diameter, and MK rates the MK-610W for saws in the 8 to 20 hp range. Confirm your saw accepts a 12-inch blade and has a matching arbor before ordering.

Is this a wet or dry blade?

Wet. Water cools the core, flushes slurry from the kerf and controls dust. Running it dry risks core damage and segment loss, and it releases respirable silica.
