Marble punishes the wrong blade. It loads a rim that cannot clear slurry and it chips at the exit edge when the blade runs hot. The MK Diamond MK-62M is a premium grade segmented rim wet cutting blade built specifically for marble, and this 8-inch size is the one stone shops keep on the bridge saw and the rail saw for sink cutouts, backsplash rips and edge work.
Built for these use cases
- Sink and cooktop cutouts in marble and other soft to medium natural stone
- Ripping backsplash and window sill stock to width on a rail or bridge saw
- Trimming thresholds, stair treads and shower curbs to length
- Job-site recuts where a segmented rim has to clear slurry fast and keep moving
Why a segmented rim on marble
The gullets between segments do two jobs a continuous rim cannot: they carry water down into the cut and they carry slurry back out. On a dense slab that is what keeps the blade from binding and the cut from wandering. The tradeoff is a slightly rougher edge than a continuous rim leaves, which is why shops commonly run a segmented blade for the rough cut and dress the visible edge afterward.
MK Diamond bonds the MK-62M for marble specifically. A general purpose stone blade will cut marble, but a marble-specific bond releases at the right rate in soft stone instead of glazing over, so the blade keeps its own edge open through the cut.

Frequently asked questions
Is the MK-62M a wet or dry blade?
Wet only. The segmented rim depends on water to clear slurry and cool the core. Running it dry will glaze the segments and can damage the blade.
Will it cut granite?
MK Diamond bonds the MK-62M for marble. For granite, MK publishes the MK-62G in the same segmented rim family, bonded for that harder material. Using a marble blade on granite wears the segments quickly.
How is this different from a continuous rim tile blade?
A segmented rim cuts faster and clears slurry better in thick stone, but leaves a slightly rougher edge. A continuous rim gives the cleanest chip-free edge in tile and thin stone but cuts more slowly in a slab.
What saw does the 8-inch size fit?
It fits wet saws rated for an 8-inch blade on a 5/8 inch arbor, including most tabletop tile saws and smaller rail saws. Check the saw plate for the maximum blade diameter.
What does premium grade mean here?
It describes the diamond concentration and bond of the segments. Premium grade sits above standard grade for expected life and cutting speed in the material it is rated for.
