The Mercury TS-21 is a 21-inch dual-speed rotary floor machine 175 RPM for scrubbing, stripping, and bonnet cleaning, 300 RPM for spray buffing and high-shine polishing. The 1.5 HP DC-rectified motor and all-metal chassis deliver the down-weight that hard-floor cleaning needs, while the dual-speed switch lets one machine cover what most operations spread across two single-speed units. Mercury backs the motor and gearbox for five years.
Best for
- Mid-size commercial floor crews 21-inch path covers more square footage per pass than 17-inch machines without sacrificing maneuverability.
- Dual-purpose use one machine for stripping (175 RPM) and one for spray buffing (300 RPM) no need to swap units between passes.
- Schools, retail, and healthcare DC motor handles voltage variation on long extension cords without thermal trip.
- Routine wax and finish maintenance 300 RPM spray-buff cycle keeps finished floors bright between strip cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why dual speed?
175 RPM is the floor-care industry standard for stripping, scrubbing, bonnet cleaning, and shampooing the chemistry needs that lower-RPM mechanical action. 300 RPM is the speed for spray buffing the floor finish needs the heat that higher RPM generates to flow and re-level into a shine. One machine, both jobs.
Why DC-rectified instead of AC?
DC motors do not suffer the startup torque spikes and low-voltage stalling that AC motors do. On long extension cords, in old buildings with weak circuits, or in continuous-duty shifts, the DC motor handles voltage variation without thermal-tripping. It is the same reason most premium burnishers ship DC.
What pad does it use?
A 20-inch floor pad (the 21-inch apron is sized to clear a 20-inch pad on its driver). Color follows the standard floor-pad scale: white for polish, red for spray-buff, blue for scrub, brown for strip, black for heavy strip.
Is the pad driver included?
No the pad driver is a separate line item, sized to a 20-inch pad. We stock 20-inch pad drivers, sandpaper screen drivers, and brush drivers for the TS-21 platform.
Will I damage my finish at 300 RPM?
Not when used as designed. Spray buffing at 300 RPM with the correct buffing pad (red or beige) and a film-forming spray-buff solution re-levels the existing finish and brings it back to gloss. Dry-burnishing finish at 300 RPM without solution is hard on finish that is what 1500+ RPM burnishers are for.
