A fixed wand is always the wrong length for somebody. Too short and a tall operator stoops through the whole shift; too long and a shorter one fights the tool overhead. The ProTeam 106290 telescoping wand solves that with one adjustment: an aluminum two-bend wand that extends from 42 inches to 59 inches and locks anywhere in between, in a 1-1/2 inch diameter that fits standard ProTeam backpack and canister tool couplings.
That range does two jobs. At the short end it is a comfortable working length for close-in and under-furniture work. Extended, it puts vents, ledges, sprinkler heads, ceiling corners and the tops of lockers and partitions within reach from the floor - which is the difference between vacuuming high dust on the route and scheduling a ladder crew for it.
Built for
Use cases
- Crews with operators of different heights. One wand adjusts instead of stocking two lengths.
- High dusting from the floor. Vents, ledges, door frames, ceiling corners and locker tops within reach without a ladder.
- Under desks and fixed seating. Collapse the wand for control in tight spaces, extend it to reach the back wall.
- Stairwells and auditorium seating. Reach across rows and down risers from a stable stance instead of climbing with a loaded backpack.
- Replacing a bent or seized wand. A common failure point on a hard-used backpack vacuum.

Safety note on high work
Reaching overhead with an extended wand still puts weight at the end of a lever. Keep both hands on the wand for extended overhead work, and do not use a wand as a substitute for proper access equipment on anything you cannot reach from a stable stance on the floor.
Frequently asked questions
What length does this wand adjust between?
It extends from 42 inches to 59 inches and locks at intermediate positions, so it can be set to a comfortable working height for most operators.
Will it fit my vacuum?
It uses the 1-1/2 inch tool coupling standard on ProTeam commercial backpack and canister vacuums. If your machine uses a 1-1/4 inch coupling, this wand will not seat correctly. Measure your current wand before ordering.
Is a telescoping wand less rigid than a one-piece?
There is a small amount of flex at the telescoping joint that a solid one-piece wand does not have. In normal floor and high-dusting work this is not an issue, but crews that value maximum rigidity above all sometimes prefer a fixed two-piece aluminum wand.
Do my existing tools fit it?
Any tool built for the 1-1/2 inch ProTeam coupling will fit, including Sidewinder heads, crevice tools, dust brushes, upholstery tools and floor tools.
How do I keep the telescoping section from sticking?
Keep the tube clean and dry. Fine dust and moisture at the joint are what usually cause a telescoping wand to bind. Wipe the inner section down periodically rather than lubricating it, since oil attracts more dust.
