The vacuum shoe and skid assembly is the part of the HydraMaster RX-20 rotary extractor that actually contacts the carpet. The RX-20 rests on five of these cleaning heads rather than on wheels, so each assembly serves two jobs at once: it is the vacuum pickup that draws soiled solution up into the exhaust manifold and back to your recovery tank, and it is the glide that carries the machine's weight across the carpet face. This is the current New Style version, built around a cast skid. Carpet cleaning contractors and rental fleets buy these as wear parts, since the skid is in constant contact with carpet under load.

New Style versus Original Style
HydraMaster builds this assembly in two versions that differ only in the skid. The New Style assembly (000-064-012) uses a cast skid. The Original Style assembly carries an OS suffix in the parts manual and uses a wire frame skid instead. Gasket, shoe and hardware are the same on both. Check which skid your machine has before ordering, because the factory parts list treats them as separate assemblies.

The RX-20 parts manual assigns this assembly to machines built with the High Efficiency head:
- RX-20 machine part numbers 700-041-006 (120V 60Hz), 700-041-007 (230V 50Hz) and 700-041-014 (230V 60Hz), all of which use vacuum head assembly 604-053-100
- RX20 NextGen, which uses the same 604-053-100 high efficiency vacuum head assembly
RX-20 machines built with the Original Style head (part numbers 700-041-316, 700-041-318 and 700-041-322, using vacuum head assembly 604-053-101) take the OS version of this assembly, not this one. Confirm your machine's part number and head style against your parts manual before ordering.
