Most densifiers are built around one silicate molecule size, which means the product that works on a soft slab in one region under-performs on a dense slab in another. Ameripolish 3D HS is a hybrid: three different silicate molecule sizes in one pail, so it fully penetrates varying densities of concrete regardless of region or hardness. For a contractor, that is one SKU on the truck instead of guessing chemistry job to job.
What it does on the floor is improve surface performance and abrasion resistance and resist the harmful effects of traffic wear and weathering. What the building owner notices is different: less dust coming off the slab, and less efflorescence. Those are the complaints that actually generate phone calls.
Built for
- The hardening step in a full grind-and-polish. Applied after the main grind (up to 200 grit) and after color, before finish polishing.
- Burnish-only and cream-polish specs. On an existing troweled slab: densify, burnish at 800 grit, densify again, burnish at 1500, then seal. No aggregate exposure required.
- Dust-proofing an existing warehouse or plant floor. Facility teams who want the dust gone without committing to a full grind.
- Integrally colored and exposed concrete. Rated for exposed and polished concrete as well as cements with integral color.
- Reducing sealer spend. A properly densified slab takes less SR2, so the densifier partly pays for itself on the protect step.
Applying to rejection
The target is not a gallon count - it is rejection, the point where the floor stops absorbing and material begins standing on the surface. Spray in an overlapping circular motion and work it with a microfiber pad; no vigorous scrubbing is needed and the product will not gel. Keep the floor wet for about 15 minutes, mop out puddles, and let it dry. A slab that drinks the densifier instantly is not a good sign - it usually means an over-porous surface that will need more material, not less. Absorption resistance develops over about seven days, and full densification can continue for two to six months.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know I have used enough?
Apply to rejection - the point where the floor stops absorbing and material starts standing on the surface. That, not a fixed gallon count, is the target. Coverage runs 600 to 800 sq ft per gallon depending on how porous the slab is.
Do I densify before or after color?
After. Color goes down first. The densifier reacts with cement at the surface and makes it nearly impossible for dye to bond afterward, so densifying first is a mistake that is expensive to undo.
Will it make the floor shiny by itself?
No. It hardens the surface and prepares it; gloss comes from the polishing and burnishing grits. It does enhance color, gloss and clarity once the floor is polished, but it is not a finish on its own.
Do I still need a sealer after densifying?
Yes, if you want stain protection. 3D HS improves stain resistance, but densified concrete is still porous. Ameripolish specifies finishing with SR2 or 3D SP for actual stain and etch protection.
Does it need to be diluted?
No. This is a ready-to-use product and the manufacturer specifies not mixing it. Older revisions of the data sheet mentioned a 1:1 dilution; the current sheet supersedes that and the product ships RTU.
