The 17-inch crevice tool is the attachment that gets a backpack vacuum into the places nothing else reaches: the gap behind a radiator, the track of a sliding door, the seam where carpet meets a wall base, the space between a copier and a cabinet. At 17 inches it is noticeably longer than the short crevice tools packed with consumer vacuums, which is the point. Extra reach means the operator stops moving furniture to get to the dirt.
This is the factory Sandia crevice tool from the 10-0034 five-piece kit, available on its own. Crevice tools take more abuse than any other attachment on the cart because they get jammed into hard corners and dropped down stairwells, so most contractors keep a spare in the closet.

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from the 28-inch crevice tool?
Sandia also lists a 28-inch crevice tool as part number 10-0181. The 17-inch 10-0033 is the size that ships in the standard tool kit and is easier to control in normal office and retail work. Choose the 28-inch version when you are regularly reaching deep behind fixed equipment.
Does it fit a 1-1/4 inch wand?
No. The 10-0033 is built for the standard 1-1/2 inch Sandia wand and hose cuff. Machines converted to 1-1/4 inch tooling need a reducer.
Why does my crevice tool clog?
A long, narrow tool naturally catches paper clips, staples and rolled-up carpet fiber. Tap it out at the end of a shift, and if something is lodged mid-tube, push it through from the wand end rather than pulling from the tip.
Is it worth buying a spare?
Most building service contractors say yes. The crevice tool is the piece most often cracked or left behind on site, and a machine without one loses the ability to edge a room properly.
