Anyone who has run an EDCO floor grinder knows the failure mode: the machine is on site, the slab is ready, and the wedges or the punch are back at the shop in the bottom of a bucket. This is the empty black tool box EDCO supplies for that problem. It is the case that holds Dyma-Serts and the small change tooling that goes with them, sold on its own so you can organize the accessories you already have or replace a box that has gone missing.
Built for
- Concrete contractors running EDCO Magna-Trap grinders between jobsites
- Rental yards that need a machine's tooling to come back complete
- Replacing a cracked, lost or left-behind accessory case
- Separating diamond tooling from carbide tooling so crews grab the right one
- Crews adding a second set of tooling and needing somewhere to keep it
Why EDCO colour codes the boxes
EDCO runs two families of tooling on the same multi-accessory disc, and they behave very differently. Dyma-Serts are diamond segments welded to a backing plate, used to grind and to take off tough coatings. Strip-Serts are carbide-tipped blocks meant to strip a floor clean without cutting into the concrete. Put the wrong one on a slab and you either fail to remove the coating or you gouge a floor that was only supposed to be cleaned. The black box carries the Dyma-Serts and the red box carries the Strip-Serts, which is a small thing that stops a large mistake when a crew is loading out at six in the morning.

Frequently asked questions
Does this box come with any tooling?
No. The 12001 is supplied empty. If you want a box that arrives with the change tooling in it, EDCO's 12004 black box includes a hammer and punch.
What is the difference between the black box and the red box?
EDCO lists the black 12001 for Dyma-Serts, the diamond tooling, and the red 12002 for Strip-Serts, the carbide tooling. Keeping the two separated by colour is how crews avoid putting the wrong tooling on a slab.
Will Dyma-Serts from other machines fit in it?
The box is sized for EDCO's own Dyma-Sert tooling and the wedges that go with it. It is a storage case rather than a fitted insert, so it is generally used for whatever EDCO accessories a crew carries.
Is this the same box the grinder ships with?
It is the EDCO accessory box, part 12001, sold separately. Contractors most often buy it as a replacement or to organize a second set of tooling.
Do I need the hammer and punch as well?
You need them to change tooling. The punch drives the wedges that hold Dyma-Serts and Strip-Serts on the multi-accessory disc, and the hammer strikes the punch. EDCO sells both, individually and as part of the 12004 box.
