Royal Replacement Type G Paper Bags (3 Pk) 122SW

Royal and Dirt Devil Type G replacement paper vacuum bags, 3 pack, part 122SW by Envirocare for corded hand vacuums

These Royal Type G replacement paper bags fit Royal hand vacuums and come three to a pack. The paper media traps fine dust as the bag fills, so a full bag is pulled and binned without tipping loose debris back into the air.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Royal hand vac owners keeping a spare set of Type G bags on hand so a full bag never stops a job.
• Highlight: Type G is a hand-vac-specific bag size - the collar seals to the small intake, which the larger upright bag sizes will not do.
• Expert Note: Three bags per pack covers a typical service interval; swap the Royal Type G bag once suction drops rather than shaking it out.

Description FAQ

The corded Dirt Devil and Royal hand vac has outlived most of the machines sold beside it. Plenty of them are still on shop benches, in vans and in kitchen cabinets doing stairs, upholstery and car interiors. These are the replacement Type G paper bags for those vacuums, made by Envirocare and sold three to a package.

Check this before you order

Type G bags fit corded Dirt Devil and Royal hand vacs that are equipped with the paper bag adapter, or that have the bag tube built in as the later Ultra models do. Many of these hand vacs were also sold in a shake-out configuration with a cloth bag and no adapter, and in that configuration there is nothing for a paper bag to mount to. The adapter itself is discontinued and difficult to source, so if your vacuum currently has a cloth bag and no adapter, confirm before ordering. This is far and away the most common fit mistake on this part.

Built for

  • Keeping a legacy hand vac in service. These machines were built from the late 1980s into the 2010s and the bag is usually the only thing they need.
  • Getting rid of the shake-out mess. The single most common reason owners convert to paper is so they can throw the full bag away rather than emptying a cloth bag and putting the dust straight back in the air.
  • Car detailing and shop use, where the bag fills with grit and sand that is unpleasant to shake out.
  • Facility and janitorial carts keeping an older corded handheld running.

What to expect

These are standard paper bags. They hold the debris so you can throw it away, which is a large improvement over a shake-out cloth bag, but a hand vac is not a sealed system and some fine dust will still reach the outer cloth bag. That is normal behavior for this design rather than a defect. If the outer cloth bag keeps blowing loose, check that its rubber gasket is seated fully and has not been flipped inside out, which commonly happens after the cloth bag is washed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my vacuum takes Type G bags?

Two checks. Pull the old bag and read the type letter printed on the bag or its cardboard collar. Or match the model number on the label on the vacuum body against the fit list. Type G is for corded hand-held Dirt Devil and Royal vacuums only.

My hand vac is on the list but has a cloth bag and no paper bag inside. Will these fit?

Only if the unit has the paper bag adapter, or a built-in bag tube as used on the later Ultra models. Hand vacs sold in shake-out configuration have nothing for a paper bag to mount to, and the adapter has been discontinued.

How often should I change the bag?

Change it when it is roughly two thirds full, or as soon as pickup noticeably weakens. A hand vac bag is small, so a heavy user will go through a 3 pack much faster than an upright owner would.

Can I empty and reuse a Type G bag?

No. These are disposable paper bags, not a reusable cloth bag. Emptying and reinstalling tears the collar and the paper, which is what causes leaks and lost pickup.

Is Type G the same as Type C, D, F or U?

No, and they are not interchangeable. Type G is the hand vac bag. Type C and D are upright bags, Type U is for bagged uprights such as the Ultra MVP and Swivel Glide, and Type F is for Power Pak and Can Vac canisters. There is no Dirt Devil Type A; Type A is a Hoover designation and Dirt Devil's nearest equivalent is Type AB.

What OEM numbers do these replace?

They are sold as a replacement for the genuine Dirt Devil Type G bag, part 3010348001, and the earlier 3010347001 and 3103075001.
