MK Diamond MK-505 14" x .125" x 1" Cured Concrete Laser Welded Saw Blade Product #129056

MK Diamond MK-505 14-inch wet cutting segmented diamond blade for cured concrete, .125 kerf and 1-inch arbor, on a contractor walk-behind saw

The MK Diamond MK-505 129056 is a 14 inch laser-welded diamond blade for cured concrete, .125 inch kerf on a 1 inch arbor. It is built as a Professional Series blade for high-horsepower saws and is offered in a range of bond hardnesses so it can be matched to the aggregate being cut.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: High-horsepower 14 inch saws cutting cured concrete, where a brazed segment joint would not survive the heat.
• Highlight: Laser-welded segments, which is the joint MK Diamond uses on its Professional Series when the blade will see high horsepower.
• Expert Note: Bond hardness is the variable that matters most here. MK Diamond offers the MK-505 in several hardnesses, and a bond too hard for the local aggregate will glaze instead of cut.

Description Reviews FAQ

Fourteen inches is the working size for most concrete cutting crews, and the MK-505 is the version of it built for saws that actually have power behind them. MK bonds this line for 8 to 20 hp and gives it a 12 mm segment against the standard grade's 10 mm. On a saw that can push, the taller segment and the harder bond are what keep the blade cutting straight and fast on its fiftieth cut instead of glazing and wandering.

Built for

  • Daily production slab and pavement sawing on cured concrete
  • Larger walk-behind flat saws and high-horsepower cut-off machines
  • Control joints, trenching layout cuts and demolition perimeters
  • Cutting contractors who measure blade cost per linear foot
  • Crews replacing standard-grade blades more often than they want to

How to choose between grades

MK publishes its cured-concrete contractor blades in tiers that differ on segment height and the horsepower they are bonded for, not on cosmetics. The MK-500 standard grade carries a 10 mm segment and is rated 5 to 12 hp. The MK-505 premium grade carries a 12 mm segment and is rated 8 to 20 hp. Taller segment means more diamond to consume before the blade is spent, and the higher horsepower rating means the bond is built to survive the feed rate a bigger saw can push. Putting a premium blade on an underpowered saw will not make it cut faster, and putting a standard blade on a 20 hp saw will simply wear it out sooner. Match the blade to the saw first, then to the material.

Safe operation

This is a wet-cutting blade and it must be run with a continuous water feed. Running a wet blade dry is the single most common cause of segment loss, core warping and a scrapped blade, and it also puts respirable crystalline silica into the air. Water does two jobs at once: it carries heat out of the core and it knocks the dust down at the cut. Confirm your saw's arbor matches the blade before mounting, seat the blade flat against the flange, and never exceed the maximum operating speed stamped on the blade.

Frequently asked questions

What does the extra 2 mm of segment actually buy me?

Usable life. Segment height is the depth of diamond-bearing material available to wear away before the blade reaches the core. Going from 10 mm to 12 mm is about twenty percent more of it, on a bond built to hold up under a higher feed rate.

Is 14 inch enough depth for a slab?

On a typical walk-behind flat saw a 14 inch blade gives roughly four and a half inches of depth. That covers most residential slabs. For a thicker commercial pour you want the 18 inch.

Can I put this on a 6 hp saw?

You can mount it, but it is the wrong pairing. MK publishes the MK-505 for 8 to 20 hp. Below that the saw cannot reach the feed rate the bond expects and the blade will tend to glaze. The MK-500 standard grade is the matched blade for smaller saws.

Wet only?

Yes. It is a wet-cutting segmented rim blade. Continuous water cools the core, flushes slurry and holds down respirable silica dust at the cut.

Discount Cleaning Products is an authorized MK Diamond dealer. We stock the contractor blade lines rather than drop-shipping whatever a marketplace listing happens to carry, so the part number you order is the part number MK prints in its own catalog. Our US-based team can confirm arbor size, kerf and horsepower fit against your saw before you buy, and can help you match bond hardness to the aggregate you are actually cutting.
