The MK-303 20-inch (508mm) segmented rim lapidary blade is a professional diamond blade for slicing rare and valuable stone when you cannot afford to waste material. MK Diamond built the MK-303 for rock and gem cutters who want a smoother cut, a longer-lasting blade, and faster cutting than notched-rim or plated diamond blades.
Use cases
- Slabbing large pieces of agate, quartz, petrified wood, jasper and jade on a wet lapidary saw
- Cutting valuable rough where every millimeter of kerf matters and waste has to stay low
- Production or hobby lapidary shops that want a smoother cut face with less post-cut grinding
- Replacing a notched-rim or plated blade with a longer-lasting segmented-rim diamond blade
This is a segmented rim blade. MK Diamond makes the MK-303 with a continuous rim from 4 to 14 inches and a segmented rim from 16 inches up, so the 20-inch size is in the segmented group with a 5mm rim height. Segmented-rim MK-303 blades come with a 1-inch arbor, and MK notes that stock arbors can be bushed to smaller sizes or special arbors can be made on request, so tell us at order time if your saw needs something different.
The MK-303 is designed to run wet with a water-soluble coolant. After use, dry the blade and treat it with an anti-rust lubricant before storing it, as MK recommends, so the steel core stays in good shape between jobs.
