Description Reviews FAQ

Every alkaline pre-spray you put down has to come back out. HydraMaster RinseOut is the acid rinse that finishes the job - a detergent-free neutralizing rinse for Oriental rugs, natural-fiber upholstery, investment textiles and carpet, sold here as a case of four one-gallon jugs (part 950-140-B). It drops the pH of what you leave behind, so the fiber is not left holding alkaline residue that attracts soil and stiffens the hand.

It is an ultra-concentrate. HydraMaster's label rate is 1:320 - one gallon makes up to 320 gallons of working rinse - and it carries corrosion inhibitors to protect the internals of your truckmount or portable while it runs through them.

Built for

  • Rug plant and in-plant washing. The final neutralizing rinse on wool, cotton, viscose and other naturals after an alkaline wash.
  • Cellulosic and chemical browning. Prevention as an afterspray at 2 oz per gallon; correction of existing browning or yellowing at 8 oz per gallon.
  • Dye stabilizing before cleaning. Mixed at 1:4, applied to both sides, groomed in and left 5 minutes before you clean.
  • Urine and ice-melt work. Helps dissolve and break down pet urine deposits and road-salt or ice-melt tracking.

Why cleaners run an acid rinse

Working cleaners argue about this on the trade boards, and the argument is worth knowing before you buy. The case for it, in their words: an acid rinse helps stabilize dyes in nylon, wool and cotton, the carpet seems to stay clean longer afterward, and lowering the pH is often the fastest route to urine odor control. The case against, usually from long-tenured operators: the acidic nature of the soil itself will partly neutralize your pre-spray anyway, so on routine synthetic work the extra step may be optional.

Where almost nobody argues is fine fabric. On wool, on cotton, on rugs and on anything with unstable dye, the neutralizing step is standard practice - and that is the work RinseOut is labelled for. One more practical note from the same threads: powdered acid rinses have a reputation for caking and clogging jets. RinseOut is a liquid concentrate, which sidesteps that.

  • Browning prevention afterspray: 2 oz per gallon
  • Browning or yellowing correction: 8 oz per gallon

Frequently asked questions

What pH does RinseOut mix to?

HydraMaster publishes a ready-to-use pH of 3.0 to 3.5.

How far does one gallon go?

The label rate is 1:320, so a single gallon of concentrate makes up to 320 gallons of working rinse.

Is it safe on wool?

HydraMaster rates it for wool, other natural fibers and synthetics, and it is sold specifically for Oriental rug and fine-fabric work. It is not listed in the WoolSafe approved product registry, so always pre-test.

Will it fix browning that has already happened?

The label gives two rates: 2 oz per gallon as a prevention afterspray, and 8 oz per gallon to correct existing cellulosic or chemical browning and yellowing.

Does it contain detergent?

No. RinseOut is detergent-free, which is what lets it rinse alkaline detergent residue out rather than adding more.

Will it hurt my equipment?

It contains corrosion inhibitors formulated to protect extraction equipment. Follow the label rates and flush as you normally would.
