The WI-4028 is the genuine Windsor black replacement brush for 18-inch Windsor brushrolls. The bristles are what actually lift soil out of carpet pile, and they wear down and splay out long before anything else on the machine fails. A vacuum with worn bristles still sounds and feels normal but leaves visible tracking and grit behind, which is why brush wear tends to get caught during a quality inspection rather than by the operator. Replacing the brush restores agitation without the cost of a complete brushroll assembly or a new machine.
