Low-pile commercial carpet, which covers most offices, schools, healthcare corridors and hospitality spaces. On thick plush residential carpet, a powered brush roll will lift embedded soil better than any air-only tool.
Does it work on hard floors too?
The carpet head uses a smooth lip rather than a brush strip, so it will pick up on hard floors but it is not the right tool for them. If your route mixes surfaces, look at the combination kit that includes both a carpet head and a hard surface head.
Why do crews say the Sidewinder is easier on their back?
With a backpack vacuum, bending shifts the load from your hips to your lower back. The Sidewinder's flexible neck lets the head go under a desk while you stay upright, so that shift never happens. Operators typically notice this before they notice the speed difference.
