EDCO 12002 Empty Red Tool Box

EDCO 12002 empty red tool box for storing Strip-Serts, wedges and floor grinder accessories on the jobsite

The Edco 12002 is an empty red tool box for floor grinder accessories, sold without any tools inside. It is the red-cased version of the same accessory box, holding wedges, punches and cutter inserts together in one place.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Edco crews running more than one grinder who color-code cases by machine or by operator and want the red box to tell it apart from the black 12001.
• Highlight: Red is the visibility choice - on a slab covered in grinding dust a red case is found in seconds where a black one disappears.
• Expert Note: The 12002 arrives empty; if a hammer and punch are also needed, the black 12004 is the only Edco box that comes with both.

Description Reviews FAQ

This is EDCO's red accessory box, part 12002, the case the company designates for Strip-Serts. It is supplied empty so a contractor can organize the carbide tooling already on hand, or replace a box that got left on a jobsite. The colour is not decoration: it is how a crew loading out in the dark tells the carbide tooling from the diamond tooling.

Built for

  • Contractors running Strip-Serts on EDCO Magna-Trap grinders
  • Jobs where the floor must be stripped clean without cutting into the concrete
  • Rental yards that need tooling returned complete and correctly sorted
  • Replacing a cracked, lost or left-behind accessory case
  • Crews that carry both diamond and carbide tooling and need them kept apart

Strip-Serts versus Dyma-Serts

Strip-Serts are carbide-tipped blocks built to clean a floor without grinding into the slab underneath, and the carbide edge is multi-sided and replaceable, so it can be rotated as it dulls rather than thrown away. Dyma-Serts are the other family: diamond segments welded to a backing plate, meant to actually cut, and rated by EDCO for far more aggressive coating removal. Both mount to the same multi-accessory disc, which is exactly why mixing them up is easy and expensive. EDCO's answer is the two-colour box system, red for Strip-Serts and black for Dyma-Serts.

Specifications

  • EDCO part number 12002
  • Tool box, red, listed by EDCO for Strip-Serts
  • Supplied empty; tooling, hammer and punch are not included
  • Accessory for EDCO floor grinders

Frequently asked questions

Does this box come with Strip-Serts?

No. The 12002 is supplied empty. Strip-Serts, wedges, hammers and punches are all separate items.

Why red rather than black?

EDCO uses the colour to separate tooling families. Red is the Strip-Sert box, black is the Dyma-Sert box. It is a quick visual check that the crew has the right tooling for the job.

What is a Strip-Sert used for?

Stripping a floor clean, using a carbide tip, without grinding into the concrete. If the job calls for actually cutting the slab or removing a tough coating, that is Dyma-Sert work instead.

Can the carbide be replaced when it dulls?

Strip-Serts use a multi-sided tungsten carbide edge that can be rotated to expose a fresh face, which is how contractors get maximum use out of each one.

Does it fit on a shelf in the truck with the black box?

They are the same EDCO accessory case in two colours, so most contractors carry both together and simply reach for the colour that matches the day's work.
