MK Diamond MK-505 26" (660mm) Premium Grade for Cured Concrete, Concrete Blade # 135327

MK Diamond MK-505 26-inch laser welded wet cutting diamond blade for cured concrete, part 135327

The MK Diamond MK-505 135327 is a 26 inch (660 mm) premium-grade segmented diamond blade for wet cutting cured concrete, running a .187 inch plate on a 1 inch arbor. The 26 inch size is the step between 24 inch and 30 inch flat-saw blades for crews that need a little more depth.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Flat-saw crews at 26 inch who want the heavier of MK's two plate widths at that size - the alternative 26 inch MK-505 is the .155 inch 139279.
• Highlight: The .187 inch plate adds lateral stiffness over the .155 inch 26 inch blade while staying lighter than the .210 inch and .250 inch plates MK uses on its larger diameters.
• Expert Note: Premium MK-505 blades carry 12 mm segments and an 8 to 20 hp rating; at 26 inch on a .187 inch body this is a blade for a mid-to-large walk-behind, not a handheld cut-off saw.

Description Reviews FAQ

Crews cutting control joints and full-depth passes in cured slabs reach for a 26-inch blade when a 20-inch or 24-inch no longer gets them deep enough in a single pass. The MK Diamond MK-505 is the premium-grade wet-cutting blade MK builds for that job: laser-welded segments on a 26-inch plate, a .187 kerf, and a 1-inch arbor that drops onto the walk-behind flat saws most concrete cutting contractors already own.

Built for concrete cutting contractors, municipal and DOT crews, and general contractors who self-perform sawing

Use cases

  • Full-depth joint and trench cuts in cured slabs. The 26-inch plate gives the reach a 20-inch blade does not, so a slab that used to take a two-side or stepped cut can often be finished from one side.
  • Parking deck and industrial floor demolition layout. Clean, straight perimeter cuts around a demolition area keep the concrete that stays put from spalling at the edge.
  • Bridge deck and roadway repair. Cured, hard-aggregate deck concrete is exactly what the premium MK-505 bond is formulated to cut, rather than the green concrete a soft-bond blade is built for.
  • Expansion and contraction joint widening. A .187 kerf opens an existing joint to a specified width without removing more concrete than the detail calls for.

Choosing between the MK-505 sizes

Within the MK-505 line the choice at a given diameter comes down to plate thickness. At 26 inches MK publishes two kerfs, .155 and this .187. The heavier .187 plate resists wander on deep cuts and stands up better to a saw that is being pushed, at the cost of moving slightly more material per foot than the thinner .155.

Getting a full life out of the blade

Most large-diameter blades that come back worn out early were not defective. They were run on a saw that could not turn them, run dry or run short of water, or pushed harder than the bond could shed. MK rates the MK-505 line at 8 to 20 horsepower, and the larger the plate the closer to the top of that range you want to be. A saw that bogs drops the blade below its efficient surface speed, the segments stop shedding worn diamond, and the blade glazes over instead of cutting.

Keep the water on and keep it even on both sides of the plate. Water is doing three jobs at once: holding the core temperature down so the plate stays true, protecting the laser-welded joint between segment and core, and flushing slurry out of the kerf so the diamond stays in contact with concrete rather than with its own cuttings. Let the blade set its own feed rate. Forcing a large blade into a hard-aggregate slab does not speed the cut, it deflects the plate and rounds the segments. If a blade does glaze, a pass through an abrasive material will usually re-expose the diamond; running it harder will not. Finally, check the arbor and flanges before every blade change, because a worn or dirty flange face is a common and avoidable cause of a blade that will not track straight.

Fitment and ordering notes

This blade is supplied with a 1-inch arbor, the standard shaft size on the walk-behind flat saws it is intended for. Before ordering any large-diameter plate, confirm two things on your machine: that it is rated for this blade diameter, and that the blade guard will physically accept it. A saw will often spin a blade it was never rated to carry, and that is neither safe nor productive. MK also notes that additional blade diameters and special arbors in the MK-505 range are available on request.

Frequently asked questions

What saws is the MK-505 26-inch blade meant for?

MK rates the MK-505 line for saws in the 8 to 20 horsepower range. At 26 inches you want to be toward the upper end of that range. An underpowered saw drops the blade below its efficient surface speed, which glazes the segments instead of cutting.

Is this a wet-cutting or dry-cutting blade?

Wet. The MK-505 is a wet-cutting blade and should be run with water. Water controls plate temperature, extends segment life and suppresses the silica dust a dry cut throws.

How deep will a 26-inch blade cut?

Usable depth is roughly the blade radius minus whatever the saw's shaft and flange take up, so it varies by machine. Check the maximum rated cutting depth your saw publishes for a 26-inch blade.

What does laser welded mean on a diamond blade?

The diamond segments are laser welded to the steel core rather than brazed. The bond holds up to the heat and stress of high-speed wet cutting on a large-diameter plate.

Will the MK-505 cut green concrete?

It is built for cured concrete. Green concrete abrades a blade very differently and MK publishes separate green-concrete blades for that work.

Discount Cleaning Products is an authorized MK Diamond dealer. We stock the MK Diamond blade line for concrete, masonry and stone professionals, and our US-based team can help you match a diameter, kerf and bond to the saw you actually own before you order. If you are not certain which part number fits your machine, call us with the saw make and model and we will check it against MK's published range rather than guess.
