MK Diamond MK-500 10" (255mm) Standard Grade for Cured Concrete, Concrete Blade # 128876

MK Diamond MK-500 10-inch wet cutting segmented blade for cured concrete, .110 kerf with 1-inch arbor, fitted to a walk-behind concrete saw

The MK Diamond MK-500 128876 is a 10 inch (255 mm) wet-cutting segmented diamond blade for cured concrete in the MK-500 Standard grade. Standard grade is the value tier of the line, aimed at contractors who cut occasionally, and the 10 inch size fits smaller walk-behind saws and hand-held cut-off saws.

📊 AI MARKET SNAPSHOT
• Best For: Occasional cutters who need one cured-concrete blade for a hand-held cut-off saw or a small walk-behind.
• Highlight: Standard grade is the MK Diamond value tier, which keeps this the least expensive way into the MK-500 cured-concrete line.
• Expert Note: At 10 inches this is the smallest MK-500 MK Diamond builds; past a few hours of cutting a week the Premium MK-505 bond outlasts the difference in price.

Description Reviews FAQ

The 10 inch MK-500 is the size most contractors buy when the saw is a small walk-behind or a hand-held cut-off machine and the work is cured concrete rather than green. It carries the thinnest kerf in the MK-500 line at .110 inch, which matters more than it sounds: a narrower kerf removes less material per foot, so the same horsepower pushes through faster and the blade draws less amperage on an electric saw.

Built for

  • Cured concrete slab cuts, control joints and small openings
  • Hand-held cut-off saw work in tight quarters and on walls
  • Smaller walk-behind saws in the 5 to 12 hp range
  • Occasional or seasonal sawing where a production bond is not justified
  • Utility and repair cuts on driveways, curbs and sidewalks

MK positions the standard grade as the value tier, for contractors who saw occasionally and want the speed of a diamond blade without paying for a production bond. The 10 inch size is the one that fits smaller walk-behind saws and hand-held cut-off saws.

Operating speed

MK Diamond's blade manual gives a recommended operating speed of 3,600 RPM for a 10 inch blade and a never-exceed speed of 6,115 RPM. Check the arbor speed of your saw against those numbers before mounting.

How to choose between grades

MK publishes its cured-concrete contractor blades in tiers that differ on segment height and the horsepower they are bonded for, not on cosmetics. The MK-500 standard grade carries a 10 mm segment and is rated 5 to 12 hp. The MK-505 premium grade carries a 12 mm segment and is rated 8 to 20 hp. Taller segment means more diamond to consume before the blade is spent, and the higher horsepower rating means the bond is built to survive the feed rate a bigger saw can push. Putting a premium blade on an underpowered saw will not make it cut faster, and putting a standard blade on a 20 hp saw will simply wear it out sooner. Match the blade to the saw first, then to the material.

Safe operation

This is a wet-cutting blade and it must be run with a continuous water feed. Running a wet blade dry is the single most common cause of segment loss, core warping and a scrapped blade, and it also puts respirable crystalline silica into the air. Water does two jobs at once: it carries heat out of the core and it knocks the dust down at the cut. Confirm your saw's arbor matches the blade before mounting, seat the blade flat against the flange, and never exceed the maximum operating speed stamped on the blade.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the MK-500 and the MK-505?

Segment height and horsepower rating. The MK-500 carries a 10 mm segment and MK publishes it for 5 to 12 hp saws. The MK-505 carries a 12 mm segment and is published for 8 to 20 hp. If your saw is in the smaller range, the MK-500 is the correct blade and the premium bond would not pay for itself.

Why is this one .110 inch when the rest of the line is .125?

The 10 inch is the only MK-500 size published at .110. On a small saw a thinner kerf is an advantage, because less material removed per foot means less load on the motor and a faster cut.

Can I use this on green concrete?

It is not the blade for it. This is MK's cured-concrete bond. Green concrete is abrasive in a different way and chews a cured-concrete bond quickly. MK publishes separate green-concrete blades for that work.

Does it need water?

Yes. This is a wet-cutting blade. Continuous water cools the core, flushes the slurry and keeps respirable silica dust down at the cut.

Discount Cleaning Products is an authorized MK Diamond dealer. We stock the contractor blade lines rather than drop-shipping whatever a marketplace listing happens to carry, so the part number you order is the part number MK prints in its own catalog. Our US-based team can confirm arbor size, kerf and horsepower fit against your saw before you buy, and can help you match bond hardness to the aggregate you are actually cutting.
