At 20 inches this is the largest MK-62M that MK Diamond lists, and it is the blade for a shop whose bridge saw is rated for it and whose stock is too thick for anything smaller. Premium-grade segmented-rim wet cutting, bonded for marble, .125 kerf, 1-inch arbor.
Built for high-volume stone fabricators and architectural stone shops running large bridge saws
Use cases
- Maximum depth of cut in marble and travertine. 20 inches is the top of the MK-62M range and reaches through the thickest stock the line is intended for.
- Large-format slab breakdown. Cutting oversize slabs down without repositioning the piece mid-cut.
- Heavy architectural stone components. Column sections, heavy sills and dimensional blocks in soft stone.
- Production shops standardising on one large blade. One diameter that covers both slab work and thicker dimensional cuts.
Choosing between the MK-62M sizes
This is the deepest-reaching MK-62M. It shares the .125 plate with the 16 and 18-inch blades, so the decision is purely whether your saw is rated for a 20-inch blade and whether you need that reach. If most of your work is standard slab thickness, the 16-inch is the more economical production choice.

Getting a full life out of the blade
In a stone shop the two things that end a blade early are the wrong bond and not enough water. Bond first: stone blades are formulated to the material, and the segments only stay sharp when the stone abrades them at the rate the bond was designed around. Put a soft-stone blade in dense, high-quartz granite and the wear turns rapid and uneven; put a granite blade in polished marble and the edge quality suffers. Ordering by part number rather than by diameter is what keeps this from happening in a shop that runs both.
Water second. A segmented-rim wet blade needs a steady feed on both sides of the plate. Water controls the core temperature, holds the segment bond together, flushes slurry out of the kerf and knocks down the respirable silica that cutting stone releases. Beyond that, the habits that protect a finished edge are the ordinary ones: check that the saw's flanges are clean and undamaged, let the blade feed at its own rate instead of forcing it, and on polished stock take a shallow scoring pass before committing to the full-depth cut. None of that is specific to MK blades, but all of it shows up in the difference between a blade that lasts a season and one that does not.
Fitment and ordering notes
This blade is supplied with a 1-inch arbor, which is standard on the bridge and rail saws it is built for. MK states that stock arbors can be bushed down to smaller sizes, but that has to be specified at the time the blade is ordered rather than fixed afterwards. MK also lists additional diameters and special arbors as available on request. Confirm your saw's rated maximum blade diameter and its guarding before stepping up a size.
Frequently asked questions
Is 20 inches the largest MK-62M available?
It is the largest diameter MK lists as stock for the MK-62M. MK also states that additional blade diameters are available upon request.
Will a 20-inch blade fit my bridge saw?
Only if the saw is rated for that diameter and has the guarding for it. Check the machine's maximum blade size before ordering.
What material is it bonded for?
Marble and other soft stone such as travertine and limestone. For granite, MK publishes the MK-62G.
Does it require water?
Yes. It is a wet-cutting blade and needs a water feed for segment life and dust control.
What arbor size is it?
1 inch.
