On a tile job the cut edge is often the edge people see. The MK Diamond MK-200 is the MK standard grade continuous rim wet cutting blade for tile, and part number 137141 is the 6-inch size. MK describes the series as fast cutting tile blades for smooth, chip-free cutting on tile and other stone materials, and calls out that they are excellent on dense floor materials. Tile setters, flooring contractors and serious remodelers use this size on small wet saws for the cuts that end up against a wall, around an outlet or at a visible edge, where a chipped glaze means pulling the piece and cutting another.
Built for
- Straight and plunge cuts in ceramic and porcelain floor and wall tile
- Dense porcelain and stone tile where a segmented blade would chip the glaze
- Trim cuts around outlets, door casings and fixtures during a bathroom or kitchen remodel
- Cutting stone tile and thin dimensional stone on a small wet saw
- Any visible finished edge that will not be covered by trim or grout
What sets this blade apart
The continuous rim is the whole point. A segmented blade cuts faster because the gullets clear material aggressively, but those same gullets are what nibble at a glazed face and leave a rough edge. A continuous rim presents an unbroken cutting surface, so the edge comes off cleaner with far less chipping, which is why it is the standard choice for tile and the reason tile setters keep one on the saw even when a faster blade is available. Technique still does half the work: run the blade wet, feed slowly, and on a tile that is prone to chipping take a shallow scoring pass along the line before cutting through. The 8mm rim height MK publishes is the usable depth of diamond on the rim.

Choosing the right size in this series
MK publishes the MK-200 in 4, 4-1/2, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 14-inch diameters. The 4 through 10-inch sizes are .060-inch wide, and the 12 and 14-inch sizes step up to .080-inch with a 1-inch arbor. Match the diameter to the maximum your wet saw is rated for.
Frequently asked questions
Does this blade need water?
Yes. It is a wet cutting blade and needs water at the cut. Water cools the rim, controls the silica dust that tile cutting produces, and is what keeps the edge clean. A wet blade run dry can be ruined in seconds.
Will it cut porcelain without chipping?
A continuous rim is the blade style meant for chip-free cutting, and MK calls this series out as excellent on dense floor materials. Feed rate matters as much as the blade: go slowly, and on hard porcelain score a shallow first pass along the line before cutting through.
What arbor does part 137141 use?
MK Diamond publishes part 137141 with a 5/8-inch arbor, .060-inch width and an 8mm rim height. MK notes that stock arbors can be bushed to smaller sizes and that special arbors are available on request if that is specified at time of order.
Can I use it on natural stone as well as tile?
Yes, MK lists it for tile and other stone materials. For production granite work MK publishes dedicated granite series with a harder bond, but for stone tile and thin stone on a wet saw this series is the normal choice.
Why is my blade no longer cutting well?
Most often it has glazed rather than worn out. Cutting softer material than the rim was built for, or running with too little water, closes the bond over the diamonds. Dressing the blade in an abrasive block re-exposes the diamond.
