Description Reviews FAQ

This is the upper handle assembly for Bissell CleanView Helix upright bagless vacuum cleaners, Bissell part number 203-2452. The upper handle is the section you grip and steer the machine with, and it is a frequent breakage point on uprights that get pulled around by the handle or tipped over. Replacing the handle assembly is far cheaper than replacing the vacuum, and it is a straightforward repair on these models.

Fits

Bissell describes this part as the upper handle assembly for the CleanView Helix upright bagless vacuum cleaners, series and models 71V9 and 21K3. Bissell's own compatibility listing for the part names the CleanView Helix Deluxe Vacuum 71V92 and the CleanView Helix Deluxe Vacuum 21K3, and lists 21K31, 21K32, 21K35 and 71V9 as similar models to the 21K3.

Bissell publishes a separate handle assembly, part 203-2471, for the CleanView Helix Plus. That is a different part with different fitment. Check whether your machine is a Helix or a Helix Plus before ordering.

Confirm fitment against your machine's model number, which is printed on a label on the vacuum body, before ordering. If you are unsure, contact us with that model number.

Before you order a handle

Handle failures on uprights fall into two groups. If the plastic itself has cracked or the handle has separated from the body, the handle assembly is the right part. If the machine has gone dead or intermittent and the handle happens to hold the switch or the cord routing, the fault may be in the wiring or the switch instead, and a new handle will not fix it. Flex the cord where it enters the handle and check for intermittent power before ordering. When you do the swap, unplug the machine first, keep the screws you remove in order, and take a photo of the wiring before you disconnect anything.
