The brushroll is the wear part that does the actual agitation in a Windsor Sensor upright. As bristles shorten and soften with use, the machine keeps sounding fine while grooming and soil removal quietly fall off, so brushrolls get replaced on a schedule in most commercial cleaning operations rather than waiting for a failure. This is the 12-inch roller for the 12-inch Sensor machines, in the standard stiff bristle configuration, supplied without end caps.

Fits
The 12-inch Windsor Sensor machines:
- Sensor S12 and SRS12
- Sensor XP12 and SRXP12
This roller does not fit the wider Sensor machines. The Windsor factory parts lists assign entirely different brushroll part numbers to the SR15 and XP15 (part 5290WI) and to the SR18 (part 5276WI). A 12-inch roller will not work in a 15-inch or 18-inch machine. Some listings elsewhere group all Sensor sizes together under one part; the factory parts lists do not. Check the sweep width of your machine before ordering.
Stiff bristle versus soft bristle
Windsor catalogs two bristle options at this position. This is the standard stiff bristle roller, the general purpose choice for commercial carpet. Windsor also builds a soft bristle version of the 12-inch roller, identified by its green bristles and the SB suffix, for use where a gentler agitation is wanted. If your machine came with a green roller, you may want the soft bristle version instead.
