Carpeted stairs, office chairs and lobby seating are where a plain floor tool runs out of usefulness. Suction alone skims the surface; what actually releases embedded hair and grit is mechanical agitation. The Sandia 10-012507 turbo brush (Sandia part 10-2507) is the 1-1/4 inch air-driven brush head built for exactly that job on the Raven backpack vacuum line. It has no motor, no battery and no second cord to manage - airflow through the tool spins an internal turbine, and the turbine drives the brush strip.
That matters for the person actually doing the work. Custodians running nightly routes and auto-detailers working out of a van both told the same story in product feedback we reviewed: an air-driven brush is the cheapest way to add agitation without adding weight, wiring or another thing to charge. You clip it on, you clean, you clip it off.
Built for
- Carpeted stairs and stair nosings, where a 14-inch floor tool cannot sit flat
- Office chairs, waiting-room seating and other commercial upholstery
- Vehicle interiors - fleet vans, shuttles, patrol cars and detailing work
- Pet hair and lint on entry mats, runners and low-pile walk-off carpet
- Mattresses and cubicle panels during periodic deep-clean cycles
Why crews order this part
- No cord, no battery, no belt to the vacuum motor - the tool is powered by the air already moving through the hose
- Agitation lifts the fiber so the vacuum can pull out what suction alone leaves behind
- Small enough to work one-handed on stairs, which is where most of the back strain in a route happens

Frequently asked questions
Does the turbo brush need power or batteries?
No. The brush is air-driven. The airflow your vacuum already produces spins an internal turbine, which turns the brush strip, so there is nothing to plug in or charge.
Will it fit my vacuum?
It is built as a 1-1/4 in. tool for the Sandia Raven backpack accessory line. If your wand or hose handle is 1-1/2 in., you need the step-down handle that ships in Sandia's 10-2300 Turbo Brush Kit. Measure the outside diameter of your wand end before ordering.
Is it for carpet or upholstery?
Both. It is most often used on carpeted stairs and commercial upholstery, and it also works on low-pile walk-off carpet and vehicle interiors.
The brush stopped spinning. Is it broken?
Usually not. Air-driven brushes stall when airflow drops - check for a full bag or filter, a clogged hose, or hair wound tightly around the brush strip. Clear those first before assuming the turbine has failed.
Is this a genuine Sandia part?
Yes. This is the OEM Sandia turbo brush, not a generic aftermarket copy.
