The upper housing is the pressure side of the Aquatec demand pump that supplies a Sniper extractor, and it is where cracks, weeping seams and damaged switch bosses show up first. The Sandia 10-0812-B is the genuine Aquatec upper housing assembly kit, so a tech can rebuild the top half of a pump that is otherwise healthy instead of buying a complete replacement pump.
This is the repair carpet cleaning contractors and restoration crews choose when the pump still runs and the motor end is sound but the top of the pump is leaking, the housing has been cracked by a hard freeze, or the switch mounting has been damaged during a previous repair. Aquatec builds these pumps with nylon housings, so the upper housing is strong under normal pressure but is the first casualty when water is left in the wet end below freezing.
Built for
- Sandia Sniper extractors fitted with the Aquatec demand solution pump
- Service techs rebuilding a pump wet end rather than replacing the entire pump assembly
- Machines returned from cold storage with freeze-split or weeping pump housings
- Shops that keep pump rebuild components on the shelf to avoid full-pump lead times
When to replace it
- Water weeping or spraying from the seam at the top of the pump while it runs
- Visible crack in the nylon upper housing, typically after freeze exposure
- Pump loses pressure through an internal leak instead of delivering it to the wand
- Damaged or stripped pressure switch mounting on the upper housing
- Housing repaired previously with sealant that has since failed
Installation and service notes
Disconnect mains power and relieve line pressure with the wand trigger before opening the pump. Photograph the fastener pattern and hose routing before disassembly; the housings stack in a specific order and the diaphragm must seat flat against its mating face or the rebuilt pump will leak worse than before.
Inspect the valve housing and lower housing while the pump is open. Rebuilding only the upper half of a pump that has worn EPDM valves or a fatigued Santoprene diaphragm just moves the problem down one layer, and you will have the pump apart twice.
Torque the housing fasteners evenly and in a cross pattern. Overtightening one corner distorts the nylon and creates the exact seam leak the kit was meant to fix.

Frequently asked questions
Does this kit include the pressure switch?
Order the switch separately if yours has failed. The 10-0812-A Aquatec 120 PSI pressure switch is the matching part. Confirm exactly what is in the box with our staff before you order if you need both.
Should I replace the valve and lower housings at the same time?
If the pump has high hours or you already have it apart, yes. The 10-0812-C valve housing kit and 10-0812-D lower housing kit address the wear items on the other side of the diaphragm, and doing them together means opening the pump once.
My housing cracked over the winter. Is that covered under warranty?
Freeze damage is not a manufacturing defect and is normally excluded. Flushing the solution circuit with antifreeze before cold storage prevents it.
Is rebuilding worth it versus buying a new pump?
It depends on the motor end. If the motor still runs strong and only the wet end is worn, rebuilding is clearly cheaper. If the motor is weak or the pump has years of daily use, a complete pump is the better value.
