Microfiber Cloths and Mop Pads by Exact Spec

Microfiber is sold by specification: fabric weight (GSM), size, nap, backing and count. Two listings that look alike can differ on every one of those. This page lists our microfiber cloths, flat mop pads, tube mop heads and dust mops by exact spec, so you can match what you already use and compare the delivered cost per piece.

How to compare microfiber prices

The sticker price alone does not tell you what a cloth costs. Work out the delivered cost per piece: the price plus shipping, divided by the number of cloths or pads. Then check the spec matches. A 12x12 cloth has about 56% of the fabric of a 16x16, and a 250 GSM cloth is lighter than a 320 GSM one. Every product page here shows the estimated shipping cost or Free Shipping next to the price, so you can do the math before checkout.

How the specs differ

GSM. Grams per square meter. Higher GSM means a thicker cloth that holds more liquid. The Premium cloths are 320 GSM.

Size. 16x16 cloths fold into eight cleaning faces and cover more surface per wipe. 12x12 cloths cost less per cloth and suit detail work. Compare cost per square inch, not just per cloth, when the sizes differ.

Weave. Looped general-purpose cloths trap dust and hold liquid. Smooth and suede glass cloths have a flat weave for streak-free glass, mirrors and stainless steel.

Mop pads. Low-nap pads glide on smooth floors. Pads attach by hook-and-loop (velcro) and must match the frame width: an 18-inch pad fits an 18-inch frame.

Tube mop heads. Sold by weight. The heavier head holds more solution and covers more floor per dip.

Microfiber FAQ

What does GSM mean on a microfiber cloth? Grams per square meter, the weight of the fabric. A higher GSM cloth is thicker and holds more liquid. The Premium cloths here are 320 GSM; a 16x16 Premium cloth weighs 49 grams.

How do I compare microfiber prices between sellers? Compare the delivered cost per piece: the price plus shipping, divided by the number of cloths or pads. Check that the size and GSM match too, since a 12x12 cloth has a little over half the fabric of a 16x16.

Should I buy a pack or a case? A case spreads the shipping cost over many more cloths. The estimated shipping on each product page lets you compare a 12-pack against a 120 or 144-cloth case before checkout.

Why are the cloths sold in different colors? Color-coding keeps cloths used in restrooms separate from those used on kitchens, food areas or glass. The Premium 16x16 cloths come in purple, lime, gray, red, yellow, blue, green, orange and white packs, and in mixed-color cases.

What is the difference between a general cloth and a glass cloth? General-purpose cloths have a looped pile that traps dust and holds liquid. The smooth and suede glass cloths have a flat, tight weave made to leave glass, mirrors and stainless steel streak-free.

What fits the 18-inch velcro frame? The 18-inch low-nap velcro mop heads. The 19-inch low-nap pad is a separate size. Measure your frame before ordering, because pads are not interchangeable between frame sizes.

What is the difference between medium and large tube mop heads? Weight and coverage. The medium heads are 14 oz and the large blue head is 16 oz, which covers more floor per dip.
