Prevent Bed Bugs By Washing Your New Clothing Immediately!

Much of our clothing, sheets, towels and more now come from companies outside of America. Even the most expensive stores sell foreign clothing from China and other countries. Bed bugs are coming in on the clothing as these countries do not consider bed bugs a problem.  Any new clothing that you bring into the house should first be washed in hot water for at least 20 minutes.  The heat will kill the bed bugs and their eggs.  Make sure not to purchase new clothes and hang them in your closet until the next wash. Wash new fabrics immediately to prevent any eggs from moving to other fabrics in the home. It does not matter what the price range is of the clothing or if it comes from the most expensive store known in the U.S. They still get shipments from these countries and the bugs can come in a box of scarves or anything else for that matter. All you need is to bring one item into the house that has bugs or eggs and you could end up experiencing many problems.

These few tips will assist in preventing bed bugs in your home or workplace:

1. Chemical treatment - Outside chemicals shouldn't be sprayed on bedding that you'll sleep on. Microban X-580 is a safer chemical that is highly effective in destroying bedbugs. One application will typically kill all insects.
2. A Dry Vapor Steam Cleaner - Great for cleaning the entire home, office complex, store or hotel. Heat will kill bedbugs and more importantly their eggs. Get in to all corners, baseboards and crevices to assure you've eliminated even the eggs.
3. UV-C Light Wand - UV light will sanitize everything while killing bacteria, dust mites, odor and bedbugs. Use the wand device to clean pillows, chairs, bedding and you can even bring the wand to work to sanitize the working area completely. Ultraviolet light is extremely effective though dangerous if held over human skin and is recommended to be faced away from the body when using.
4. Vacuum your mattress often and fabrics around your bedding.  Try a handheld vacuum with UV-C light like the Verilux or Thermax bed & upholstery cleaner.  Great for hotels, offices and homeowners.
