Details that matter on a full shift
The 10-quart capacity is the practical headline: fewer bag stops per shift than a 6-quart, which on a school or a large office is real time. The cushioned back-pad is shaped to the curve of the operator's back, and the shoulder and waist belt spread the load so the weight is not hanging off the shoulders. The static-dissipating hose threads into the lid and can be set for right- or left-handed vacuuming. Two lever-style latches lock the lid to the body, and the cord is a 50-foot safety cord.
Filtration is the dual-bag arrangement Sandia uses across the line - a disposable heavy-duty paper micro-bag inside a washable cloth shakeout bag - plus a HEPA motor filter.
The honest tradeoffs
Two things working cleaners will tell you. First, a suction-only backpack has no beater bar; on thick plush carpet it will not pull embedded soil the way an upright with a brush roll does, which is why the powerhead option exists. This unit is adaptable to the powerhead. Second, in narrow hallways with no room to turn around, a backpack tank will knock things off walls - that is the situation where a hip vacuum is the better tool.
