Every drop of solution a rotary tool puts down goes through the trigger, which means the trigger is squeezed and released thousands of times on a single commercial floor. The Sandia 10-0864-TRIGGER is the genuine trigger and spray gun assembly for the 15-inch turbo tool. Hard surface contractors replace it when the valve starts dribbling after release, when the trigger gets hard to hold, or when it simply will not shut off cleanly - all of which turn a controlled pass into wasted solution and a wetter floor than the job called for.
Built for
- Tile and grout contractors putting hundreds of trigger cycles into every commercial floor
- Restoration crews whose gun has started dripping between passes
- Facility maintenance techs dealing with hand fatigue from a stiff, binding trigger
- Anyone who cannot cleanly stop the flow when they lift the tool at the end of a pass
What this part does
The trigger and spray gun is the operator's on-off valve for pressurized cleaning solution. Squeeze it and solution reaches the spray bar and jets; release it and flow stops instantly. That instant shutoff is what lets a tech control edge work, avoid over-wetting, and keep from soaking a threshold on the way out of a room. Internal seals and the valve seat wear with use, and once they do, the gun drips when it should be closed.
When to replace it
- Dripping or a fine mist continuing after the trigger is released
- A trigger that binds, sticks or takes noticeably more grip force than it used to
- Leaking at the gun body or where the gun meets the solution line
- A broken, cracked or missing trigger guard, lever or safety lock
Fitment
Genuine Sandia part 10-0864-TRIGGER for the Sandia 15-inch turbo tool. Order it with a new solution hose if the hose is also fatigued - the two live in the same pressurized run and tend to wear on the same schedule.
Getting the most life out of it
Flush clean water through the gun at the end of each job with the trigger held open so chemistry does not dry inside the valve. Sandia's warranty specifically excludes damage from powdered detergent and from skipping the regular vinegar flush, both of which leave deposits exactly where the valve seat needs to stay smooth. Relieve system pressure before storage so the seals are not held compressed overnight.
Specifications
Sandia warranty policy (as published by the manufacturer): 2-year warranty on all vacuum motors; 2-year warranty on 100 psi pumps only, 1-year warranty on all other pumps; 90 days on parts, tools and accessories.
The warranty does not cover defects or failures resulting from improper or absent maintenance, misapplication, misuse, tampering, or substitution of provided parts. It also excludes pumps stored in freezing conditions, pumps run for extended periods with no water, use of powdered detergent, failure to flush the system regularly with a vinegar solution, filters removed from the solution tank, and inline filters that are not cleaned regularly. Sandia covers up to one year of service labor at the manufacturer's calculated hourly rate when the work is performed by a manufacturer-authorized service provider; after one year the original retail purchaser is responsible for all labor. Authorized warranty replacement parts must come directly from the manufacturer - using other parts voids the warranty. Contact the manufacturer before changing out any part, and do not return parts or equipment without an RMA number and prior approval. Warranty starts on the purchase date by the original purchaser from an authorized distributor, subject to proof of purchase.
Frequently asked questions
My gun drips after I let go. Can it be rebuilt?
Sometimes, but on a valve this heavily cycled most techs replace the assembly. A dripping gun wastes solution and over-wets floors, and the labor of chasing seals rarely pays off against the part cost.
Is a stiff trigger dangerous or just annoying?
Mostly a fatigue and control problem, but it becomes a quality problem - a tech fighting a stiff trigger stops modulating flow, which is how floors get over-wet and streaky.
Does this include the hose?
No. The solution hose is a separate part number, 10-0864-SH. Many rebuilds order both together.
What is the fastest way to confirm the gun is the leak source?
Pressurize the system without pulling the trigger. If solution appears at the gun with the trigger released, the valve seat or its seals have failed.
